Genetics

Write a story that has a central theme of genetics. You can use your imagination, but you have to show what you know about genetics at this point.

  1. There was once a guido and a guidette, they were in love. the guido had black hair & blue eyes, and the guidette had blonde hair & green eyes. then the punnett sqaure determines which DNA the child gets. But with single-celled organisms they are replicas of the orginal. so genetics are different. and those are your genes. and I'm not just talking apple bottom! So then you figure out the square and then boom a baby!

    I'm out fistpump!
P.s. we worked with larkeys so i remember some stuff just not the names!

  2. So their was a guy named Bob. Bob was Asian. He married his wife who is British. Their kids had the same eyes as the dad but the same hair color as their mom. One day one of their kids, Frank-e, had a science project on genetics. He wanted to know why he had one characteristic of his dad and another of his mom. So Frank-e went down to the Social Science Laboratory of Schwana, Utah. So Frank-e went down town to the laboratory and did some work with the scientists. He discovered that different genes have different make ups. Not all genes of your parents you will get because then you would look like the monkomonster in the movie Bar Bar which is not good. Also he learned that deseases and traits can be passed down like Cancer and being athletic. So Frank-e went home and talked to his parents why he is the way he is. THIS IS JACOBS

  3. Carlos' mother is a native-born American, and his father is an African American that was born in Kenya. His father flew over to America when he was 19 because he wanted to work at Burger King. Carlos' mother was ordering a whopper at Burger King when Carlos' father was shaking the fries. They seen each other and started going out. They got married, and later, they had Carlos. Carlos' father had dark skin, black hair, brown eyes, and was very tall. His mother
had blonde hair, blue eyes, and was short. Carlo's turned out to have dark skin, black hair, blue eyes, and was not short, but not tall. This happened due to genetics and the strength of them.

  4. A 5'5" chinese man came to the United States on a buisness trip. Here he met a blonde, 6'1", blue eyed women. They fell in love and had a child together. Their child ended up being 6 feet tall and looked like a spitting image of his father. Same black hair, brown eyes, olive skin and then got his mother's height. This is because chinese genes are very strong. Later in this child's life he got diabities. He found out his grandfather had had diabities too and it was actually genetically passed down. This child ended up dieing at the age of 50. It wasn't shoking, because the men on his mom's side of the family have always died early and he got passed down the bad genes. This shows how genes are what determine what your life is like and the body you live in.

  5. Once, there was a mommy and daddy cat. The mommy cat had orange stripes and green eyes. The daddy cat had black spots and yellow eyes. They both had big ears. When the mommy cat had a bunch of baby cats (or kittens, if you prefer) they were varying in colors. All of the kittens had big ears because both the mommy and the daddy cat had big ears, so it was a dominant gene. Most of the kittens had black spots, because the black spots were dominant and the orange stripes were recessive. Some of the kittens did end up with orange stripes because they got both of the recessive chromosomes. Because the kittens were so curious, they asked their mommy and daddy why they didn't all look the same. So the mommy and the daddy decided to give them a little lesson on genetics.
"You see," said the mommy kitten, "the way you look is all dependent on the genes that you get from me and your daddy."
"Some genes are recessive," continued the daddy. "and others are dominant."
"What's the difference?" asked one of the kittens.
"Well, that's where a Punnett Square comes in." Said the mommy cat. "If you have two dominants, or one dominant and one recessive, you will get the dominant gene."
"Well how did I get the recessive orange stripes gene then?" ask one of the orange kittens.
"The only way to get a recessive gene is if you got two recessive genes, so that's what must have happened with you!" Said the daddy cat.
"Oh! We understand now! Thank you!" shouted all of the kittens in unison.
Then they all lived happily ever after and none of them got hit by a car.
    THE END.

  6. The changes due to genes and environments. Genes are, in easy terms, the things that came from you parents when you are born that makes you like them as they are replicas of their genes.

so when your parents "make" you they send replicas of their genes to you. lets name the genes for your sex bob for male and girl for the girl gene. now Bob and girlgo into you and fight for control. they fight for a good 20 weeks or so untill your mom gos to the evil doctor to see wich side as won. now in this story Bob wins the fight. so you be come a boy and grow for the rest of the 9 mounths and then become one with this world for the next 60-99 years.

  7. Once upon a time, there lived two hedgehogs. One was brown boy and the other was white and tan girl. The gene for being a brown (BB) hedgehog was slightly more dominant than being a white and tan (Bb) one. After a while, the hedgehogs had four babies. Three of them were brown, and only one was white and tan. It was like this because in the combination of the two hegdehogs' genes, there was a 75% chance (or 3/4) of being brown, and a 25% chance (or 1/4) of being white and tan. The two hedgehogs and their babies lived happily ever after.
    The end.

  8. Once upon a time there was these two goats. their names were Gretchen and Oranges. One goat was tall, with blue eyes and brown hair. The other goat, the girl goat (Gretchen), was short, witha long tail, blonde hair and green eyes.

One day, they were out eating in the feild, and the cupid goat shot them with an arrow. They fell in love! And before you knew it, the girl goat was pregnant.

Since both goats had very different physical traits, they didn't know what to expect. They didn't know which traits would be dominant, and which traits would be recessive. BUT! They were hoping for a girl.. and they were going to name her NATALIE!

When Natalie came, she ended up having blonde hair, blue eyes, a short tail and tall! this means that half of Gretchens genes were recessive, and the other half were dominant. Same goes with oranges.

They lived happily ever after with their little goat Natalie!! :)))

  9. I was at this place that breeds dogs. They put a golden retriever and a labrador retriever in the same room and planned to breed them. The people that were breeding them said that the puppys would have some of the traits from the golden and some traits from the labrador. The puppys would have combined traits of the labrador and the golden. The labrador was white, strong, and loved swimming. The golden was smaller with longer hair, brown eyes, and a long tail. After the labrador got pregnant and she gave birth, I saw that the puppys were a color in the middle between the golden and the labrador color.
After a few months, I came back to the same breeder and visted the puppys. They had green-brown eyes, strong, and their hair was long and wavy. Some of the pups loved swimming, but some were afraid of water. I had expected this mixture of traits because of the knowledge I had about their parents. Some traits of the puppys were recessive and some of the traits were dominant.

The man was tall, blonde haired and brown eyed. When they had a kid, and grew up, she also became tall, brown hair, and brown eyed. She had traits from her mom and dad. from her mom and dad she was tall. from her mom alone, she got the genes of brown hair. her dad gave her brown eyes, which is the dominant color over blue.

  11. The genetic theme to The Island was that there was a man that came up with the idea to clone humans to make money even though it is very immoral. Now the story line to this is that a man starts to question the building he was in, seeing what happened when you go to the “island.” When you are to win the lottery you go into a room where they kill you over your organs. Now they give you organs to the sponsors, who only bought them to ensure their own survival. Then when lincoln6echo finds out that they were all going to die he got his friend and left the facility. He found his sponsor and he turns on Lincoln and tries to kill him. Because they looked alike, Lincoln was able to trick the shooter into killing Lincoln’s sponsor.
I believe that what is movie did with the idea of cloning was good and, in its own way, show how immoral it is to do so. The way that this movie showed how far someone will go for the sake of money was good also. I believe that the money situation was a real one, I sure there are people in this world that would do anything for money.
